okay, i recently got a working computer from a friend of mine and my other computer's memory is basically shot, i have less than 1% memory left on it. i was wondering if there was a way that i could connect the two computers and use dual processors, or if there's a better way to get more performance out of either of my two fairly new computers.

Your talking RAM right? RAM refreshes... maybe you have alot in your systems tray and maybe Spyware. Harddrive? maybe you mean hard drive and someone has over loaded it with music. need more details

connect the two computers and use dual processors? they will always work independently of each other. even networking them wont help.

try reformating to get rid of unwanted programs then before surfing:

For those of you that are new to maintaining your computer properly, I suggest reading and concidering this :

Here are some tips on what I have set up on my PC that are 100% free. In this case free doesnt mean worthless. Most of these software makers want you and I to brag about them so big corporations will buy their "pro" version's.

First you need an anti-virus software. Never install one while you already have one installed. They will fight each other and freeze your PC up. Un-install any already installed anti-virus programs and be sure to double check for any other anti-virus programs by going to "control panel" then by populating and reading your "Add or Remove Programs" window.

Then install "avast! Antivirus" http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Home Edition is free and it updates itself free.

Next you need Anti-spyware. Use multiple software products. One company cant possibly keep up with all the new spywares and malwares being written.

I presently have installed Ad-Aware, Microsoft AntiSpyware, Spyblaster, Spybot - Search & Destroy, EMCO Malware Destroyer, HijackThis and of course our beloved Yahoo Anti-spyware Toolbar.

Here's a link to help find most of this anti-spyware and yes it is still free. http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/security/fwantispy.html Yahoo it or Google for it works too.

When time to clean up my whole system I run CCleaner before setting the Anti-virus or Anti-spyware to run. http://www.ccleaner.com/ They only ask for a donation and if you dont want to donate you still can down load it. What I do is run "Cleaner" tab then after the Anti-virus or Anti-spyware programs are ran I then use the "issues" tab on ccleaner.

Also be sure to have a firewall. I dont suggest zonealarm pro due to it's complicated features and the conflicts with Avast Home Edition. Personally, I like SYGATE PERSONAL FIREWALL (free @ http://www.tucows.com/preview/213160 ). Right now I'm just using XP SP2 firewall and havent had problems at all.

I'm sure others will reply saying this and that is good too but this is just an example of what is need to run free.

Good Luck

PS: did i miss anything?
