I just bought an Xbox360 and a high definition TV. I want to hook my xbox360 up to my dsl modem so I can play on xbox live.

Is there any need to filter the signal that comes from my dsl modem to my xbox360? Because my xbox360 goes into my tv via the video cord.

In other words is there any power fluctuations or unclean power that goes to my xbox360 via the ethernet cable?

Can a surge go to my dsl modem and then my xbox360 and then into my tv?

get CABLE modem my friend has dsl and LAGS horrible. and you'll be a pain to all u play with.

either way, get a good powerstrip, don't be cheap w/ them either, buy a good one, the only reason i say monstercable as a brand to go for, is because i have several different strips from them, and all work great, they have many different benefits over your 3dollar one that wouldn't protect it from anything. so go Monster for your surgeprotectors.

I dont think monster power has the lifetime warentees on their stuff or lifetime connected equiment warenttes so u might wana consider that? I know for a fact Belkin does have all the warenttes


BTW: I use DSL with my 360 and it never lags and dosent screw anyone else up either!?

i have dsl exteame 6.0 from bellsouth and i never lag........i can play ps2 while my friends are playing different games on different xboxes, ive had my router full before with xboxes on xbl and had 2 laptops running on 802.11g in the background downloading songs all from the same router and nobody lagged or slowed down a bit.......just to show you what good dsl service can do
