Just a note before game discussion:
Backing up: If using with a swap magic/similar boot disc, you have to use cd loader v7all, or dvd loader v7all to boot the game (V5.03 NO PN method). Then it works fine.
So, have you guys/gals played this game? It sort of got buried under expectations built for 2-3 years, while the game developer was fighting their lame ass publisher for money and the rights before publisher filed for bankruptcy. Battlebourne got the right and finally released it, long after they promised, thanks to A=hold publisher facking things up so bad.
Game got C grade reviews, and that's just not cool. Basically, it's one of the first games, if not the first game, developed by Battlebourne, and it looks great, and plays with a style you don't see in this type of game. (Other games of the type, - Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 1 and 2, Champions of Norrath: Realms of Everquest, Champions: Return to Arms, X-Men, X-Men Legends)
It's pretty fun, IMO. The biggest complaint i've heard from people is being shot at from off screen. I don't have a single problem with that, as when the enemy shoots, rarely are the accurate, and you have more than enough time usually to get behind cover or backtrack to the point where the firing stops. Then simply return fire in the general direction of the enemy fire, or head in moving from cover to cover as you get closer. Reminds me of those old Neo Geo arcade games (Shock Troopers) and others like Merc. One of the many PS2 games this year that got buried/overshadowed by the release of other games and systems.
Definitely worth a rental to fans of those other games mentioned. It is something new; but unfortunately people are ready to move on to other things. I can understand its neglect on the Xbox, but PS2 gamers should still check it out. The co-op is fun too.
