Also, it has been affecting my internet connection. Things are very slow or I get page not found until I exit Azureus. I have a linksys router WRT54G and WMP54G adapter. Ports are forwarded and all that.
Find your router and client on portforward.com and follow the instructions there to get you going. If you still have problems you might try unnstalling any virus software you have. Norton is known for causing problems with p2p clients. Also try stopping your Windows firewall. If you find out any of this works you can always set up exceptions in your firewalls. As a last resort, check to see if your behind a Transparent NAT on your ISP. They will do that if you are on most Verizon DSL systems. If you are behind one you'll need to see about getting a Public IP to fix the problem.
Ports are forwarded correctly (verified with utility on AzureusWiki).
Windows firewall is disabled. And it's not ISP related...I've had Az running fine on another comp (same router/adapter as well). this is a new custom built PC and I can't figure out what is different that could cause Az to report connections are good but neve download a single byte. Shows that I'm connected to peers but I'm not able to see how much of the file they have nor is there any packet transfer. Could this have anything to do with the encryption level I'm using? I have TKIP enabled (128-bit encryption) via Secure Easy Setup. Oh, and I WAS having a problem with UPnP (getting error message "unable to map to incoming peers" (or something like that) but I don't get that message anymore (no I did not disable UPnP).
Any other suggestions?
Oh, and I DO have green smilies. I'm very confused/frustrated.
I'll bet a dollar fifty that Verizon has throttled those ports, make sure you're using a different than normal port range. I use 16xxx myself.
Look higher in this forum and find the dude's speed tweaks for bittorrent, and use his registry hack to fix your sp2 connections issue.
Try uTorrent, and see if it works.
Turn OFF UPnP and set a static forward rule, if necessary, if you have a router. No need for UPnP if you're not behind a router.
And, I don't know what that security package is, but most trackers don't enable encryption just yet, so that might be part of it. Disable it or...whatever. It's probably so much window dressing anyway.
