If your Player is DivX-compatible (such as my Phillips DVP642), and the XVIDs didn't use quarterpel or lumi-masking that make them non-DivX-compatible, then you can put as many XviD AVIs on the DVD that will fit. I have created 3 DVD+Rs that hold avi's of the entire 5-season episodes and 2 movies of the Daria series, and they all play just fine.

If the above does not work, you can use an encoder to make DVD files.

Nero, Roxio, Ulead and such all come with some software that can do the trick like Nero Vision express and so on.

You can also use WinAvi, but that costs $30 I think.

There is also avi2dvd and VSO X to DVD. Avi2DVD is free, but can only do 1 move at a time so this may not be the best choice for you.

I think the stuff like Nero Vision Rosio DVD Builder, Ulead DVD Workshop are the best for you. This is because it is easy and you can build menus for the movies. Though it will not be professional, you can make something pretty impressive. You can download a trial of Nero which gives you 30 days free, so you can try that out. The other software might do the same as well.

there is also a freeware program called The FilmMachine that can do the job if your Dvd-Player doesn't support Xvid/Divx.

WinAvi is fast - but i wouldnt say much for the quality - nor would i reccomend it really as the batch encoding isn't great - ive had a few that try overwriting the previous file - or just plain quit on me.

i owuld also recomend Nero Vision. depending on the speed of your computer will depend on speed of conversion.

i can do an AVI (movie 700-900mb) to dvd in 30-60mins depending on size and encoding
i run a 2.8ghz dual core with 1mb ram - so you can work out the speed roughly with your own system.

when encoding id figure out the longest it would take and leave it encoding over night

*****make sure Nero (if thats what your using) reduces video quality to fit on a normal size disc before encoding*************

hope this helps
