Hi,

I've had this idea for a long time but just can't think of an economical way to do it. I want to take an LCD touch panel screen, and mount in somewhere in my shower. You can imagine the possibilities here. Control all of your music from it, watch a quick tv show, check the weather before work, ect... I already have a 4.1 surround system mounted in my shower that I just hook up my mp3 player to. However, you can't verywell control that from inside the shower without wrecking it.

Now here are the problems with this. First and foremost, water damage. Second, the screen fogging up from the steam.

I was wonder if anyone actually has this in their home, or knows of some way I can get this to work. Whether it be some kind of casing to put around the monitor or some kind of anti-fog film to apply over the screen. I don't want to purchase a waterproof LCD screen as those are thousands of dollars.

Thanks for any ideas/comments/suggestions!

either one of these options should work for you

1 get a panasonic toughbook - it is a military grade laptop, water resistant, dust proof, spill proof and control wirelessly

2 get a tablet pc and then get a drybag a waterproof bag used in kayaking and rafting and control wirelessly

I don't think there's really any way of getting out of buying a waterproof LCD, yes they are most certainly ridicuously expensive but I don't know of any other safe or reasonably effective method of doing something like this. However, I've always been intrigued by the idea of doing something like this, so I may just have to investigate and see if I can dig up a different option. As a short term solution to the fogging issue does anyone know if the anti-fog spray used for goggles in swimming, paintball, etc. are harmful to LCD displays? got a few bottles of that in my gear bag that could come in handy then I 'spose.
