DVD Transcoding problems on Nero 7

Hi, i am experiencing occasional problems when trying to transcode on nero 7, i will add in the parts/episodes i want to transcode and when i click on burn, sometimes it takes and sometimes it doesn't... most of the time (about 70%) it works fine, then every now and again in seems not to like certain things. When it doesn't like things it will lock up and i need to go to task manager to shut down Nero.
Can anyone shed any light on why? or hopefully offer a solution to get these various things burnt onto dvd? If anyone can help, could i also declare myself as being pretty useless when it comes to computers and asked for things to be explained in a manner to compliment this lol.
