why is my backup games all slow on cutscenes?

Not only my cutscenes but also the loading.

could this be due to my lens in the ps2 is worn out because it cannot play any cd games or music only dvd games but takes a while to recognise a disk.

Some please help me......

No not yet but i just bougt one and should arrive tomorrow.

But when i play an orginal game everything works perfectly.

Why is that? Could it be because if it is a back game the lens takes
a long time to read the disk.

bought what,i hope its not a laser cleaner,because they can damage the laser lens
you need to open the ps2 and clean the laser with a cotton swab

What media are you backing games up on? brand,type,speed
(TDK 8X DVD-R)
that could be the problem as well. Cleaning it would sure not hurt.
also adjusting the laser can get it reading all your media again. Mine always had problmes with CD games too, but since i never played them i didn't worry too much about it. And to save the laser i would not use the PS2 as a home entertainment system. What i mean is that even though i know that it is meant to do everything. getting a cheap CD player and DVD player to play your CD's and movies can really help the laser last longer.

I was getting that problem on a few games which were burnt at 4x (on Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD+R's - booktyped to DVD-ROM).

To solve the problem I upped the burn to 6x and everything now plays flawless.

Maybe give that a try ??
