Bad DVD Burner?

I'm trying to figure out why my burns lately have been messing up and i'm starting to think its my dvd burner.

My ps2 backups have chopping audio and take forever to load, but also when i burn a dvd movie the audio seems to have chops in it anymore. My older backups work fine , so i don't think its my ps2 laser.

Any other ideas?

Also I've always used the same media and burn speed, no changes there except I did notice and not sure if it did before DVD Decrypter jumps between 4.0x and 4.1x when i burn even though i picked 4, not sure if thats normal?

What type of media are u using? PS2's are picky when it comes to media, this might be the problem. There are many forums that cover which media to use, try 8X DVD-R verbatum or taiyo yuden. Burn at 4X. Ive never had a problem using taiyo yuden.
