Hi,
I have some tv shows that I want to put onto disc but I want them to playable by my dvd player (which doesn't read .avis) How would I go about burning them so that my DVD player can read them? The conversion tools I use for filsm are winAVI and dvdSanta. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Nic

I don't use DVD Santa but it should be able to convert the files and make them DVD compliant.

Nicwic,
When you said all epic in one disk using santa dvd or winavi is impossible. Here you talking about multiple epic in one dvd disk I assume? DVD Shrink can do some compression up to 6 episodes per dvd disk using 4.7g. And if you are using DL dvd you can merge up to 12 episodes.

First of all you have to convert them to VOB file using santa dvd or winavi or Nero recode or DivXtoDVD. From then you use dvd shink to compress them and using Nero if you have together with dvdshrink to burn it to your dvd disk.

If you want menus, your best bets are either Nero Vision, part of the Nero suite of programs or TMPG Author.

Nero has a 30-day free trial:

TMPGEnc Author has a 21-day free trial:

NeroVision accepts any type of video file. TMPG only accepts MPEG files.

Nicwic, if you already have Nero and it includes Nerovision, try that first. It will let you make easy menus as well. Once you compile the episodes (I would try 4 to start) then shrink that file down.
