Windows explorer crashes when an .avi file is highlighted

Hi, I hope this is in the right place and someone can help find a solution. I have some .avi files which were downloaded as torrents and are completed. As soon as i open the folder containing said files, window explorer crashes, If i go to convert these onto dvd, dvd santa crashes as it starts. Am i missing something here? I know i have done similar converts successfully before and im sure the files are ok. Any help appreciated

Got it sorted. Vso does the job with no problems. I'd recommend it to anyone that has'nt got it
