I just recently changed from a fried linksys cable modem to a Motorola 5120. Ever since my bt downloads have been slow as hell. The uploads are fine, but its getting rather annoying when it maxes out my set upload of
40k/sec while im getting 1-8k/sec down. It does this through the WHOLE
torrent download. I do not use a fire wall and I have diconnected router and im running cable straight to my pc. I have speed tested my modem and im getting 6600 out of my 7000 max on speakeasy.net. This rather baffles me, why would my bt speeds be shot down after changeing to motorola. All I can think of is trying another cable modem or gettig another nick card. I also called Adelphia and they say that no ports other than 80 are being blocked.

Well it could be that you don't have many seeders...

Also why in the hell would you not use your router.....It will keep you protected if you don't have a firewall......YOu could open the ports on your router so the router won't block most connections

It doesnt matter what torrent i use I get poor download speeds no matter what.It will max out upload and remain at 0-5k/sec on the download. I come back in 5 hrs and its at 3% while ive uploaded more than twice the files orignal size. And this just started friday after they fixed the servers due to storm damage. They say they dont block any ports but I dont know. Ive been through 2 cable modems and network cards that made no differance at all.
