Sorry to appear really really thick BUT

I have my 360 on a wireless network and have never been able to view films on my PC. I did manage once to look at pictures and listen to music, ( not sure how ) Anyway, I dont have Windows Media Centre, just Media Connect, are they the same ?? When ever i try to get windows media, i wont work. OMG It must be me. Can I watch film on my XBOX 360 using Media Connect ??

Ya, i have a 360, it connects to LIVE through the NIC port on the back of my PC and the PC connects wirelessly to the internet.

I downloaded Media Connect and the XBOX can play all my music files perfectly and my picture files. but I cant get my movie files to stream to it. I went to media connect and checked the PC is allowing the XBOX to see the video files, which it is. but no PC option on the dashboard saying I can steam videos =(

You have to have Media Center 2005 on your computer to stream video.

Also if you do have media center and want to strem videos to yuor box, the videos have to be licensed or they will not play!! this sucks because I have found that even stuff from my own camcorder will not play because it has not been signed with a license!!

The videos do not have to be licensed, they just have to be in the correct format. AVI format, which is very popular, is not supported. The list of the supported videos is available at the Xbox Media Connect site.

But when you are streaming through media center it doesnt use media connect does it? I have tried AVI's, Mpeg's & WMV and none of them workled.
