Backup games question with Swapmagic 2.0

Hey there, I'm currently using Swapmagic 2.0 and am having some problems with a couple games of mine I've backed up. I'm using a flip-top case. It will load to the Insert Disk Now screen and when I put the game in it starts up like it will load fine, but then takes a looooong time to actually do so.

I was trying to play Dragonquest 8 and the game took approx 5 min before it displayed the main screen and then was having jitters while trying to play the game too. I don't think it's my PS2 because it was having problems with this with my old one, then it busted and I just got a new unit.

I'm using Nero 6.0 to write the disks. TDK DVD+R disk that I wrote at 8x. I read that you should use a lower speed when burning these, so I just tried again at 2.4x (lowest possible) and with this new disk it will not load at all......

Is there something I am doing wrong? Is it this game specifically? Should I order the Swapmagic 3.6 disks? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try burning the disks at half the max speed so if the max is 8x burn it at 4x.

I tried that, burnt this last one at 2.4x and it's still giving me problems :(

Hmm, was able to borrow some TDK 8x DVD-R and burned it at 4x and while it still seemed to take a bit long for the initial load it's now runnign without a hitch! Thank you very much :)
