most people just use dvd decrypter to read there games iso to the hard drive then write the iso to the disk.who even bothers looking for dummy files.i guess the only way u will find out is if you try to play and it wont boot up.or is there an easy way to find out.like popin the disk in a drive and click open, will it show the dummy file ?

Yes, you can search for dummy files manually by using iso buster or apache2 etc.. but the only time dummy files are a problem really is when it makes the disc too large for swap magic users.. you can however get around this problem by doing a TOC swap, where you load swap magic and instead of putting in your backup game, you insert a high TOC original game and hit the square button instead of X.. it then reads the TOC from that disc instead of swap magic one which is 4.37Gb..
my advice would be to try a straight 1:1 copy first, if it doesn't boot or you havew problems, try a TOC swap with a dual layer game if possible.. then if still having problems do a rebuild with gnie's ExPERT tool shrinker.. this automatically searches for and replaces most dummy files during rebuild..

all above is for DVD-5 games.. hope that helps
