Hello.
I've tried to encode two movies with CCE , and both of 'em gave me this:

8:39:32: Error: 3
8:39:32: Files would need a higher QFactor
8:39:32: To encode in the resolution selected,
a QFactor higher than the QMax would have to be used
This means that this movie(s) can't be put in the media you selected
with resonable quality. Some suggestions:
1) Go for 2 CDs if you are only using 1 CD
2)Replace one of the movies if you are doing a KDVD
3)Use a lower audio bitrate
4)If you are doing a KDVD, enable audio downmix
5)Lower the resolution
6)Increase QMax. Please note that if you this last option, probably
quality will not be good.

Someone knows why it happens ? I'm newbie with CCE , and the one i converted in VSO ConvertXtoDVD had a too bad quality.
THanks =]

Are you trying to put on a CD? DVD? what?

Also what is the original resolution of the files you are trying to encode? I had some .AVI files that were high def xvids... 900X720 (i think) and it will not encode a file with a resolution that big.

Canupus pro coder 2 however did not have a problem with it.

Hello dude.

Now...look how i am encoding movies.
Using DIKO Gold(latest version),and ElCCE as encoder.
Everything is working fine. Used to set up a Qfactor of 65, and sample as 1.000
Movie encoded so good. No macroblocks, nothing (just watched it no my dvd right now).
But i would like to have MORE quality. Like the dvds u rent.
I'm looking for what is the best encoder...the one that will give you the best image+sound quality, then u just author it to convert it into VOB and make IFO+BUP's files, then burn(nero).

ANd i am having some problems tryng to encode animes. It looks like no encoder support its framerate man.
I will have to re-encode all the movie with 25.000fps , so it will be encoded. I am using Multipass VBR(3 passes).
My computer:
P4 Celeron 1.7Ghz
1.0 RAM(2 512 DDR333 Modules)
FSB: don't know
Motherboard: Intel FIC
Videocard: GeForce FX 5200 128MB
HDD: Samsung SP04011n(i think is it) 40GB,7.200 RPM
and another maxtor of 5.400RPM , 20gb

If you could , can u suggest me the best encoding solution in your point ? most used.
When i wasn't working with dvds,i used TMPGEnc so much, and it always gave me excellent DVD's and SVCD's. Excellent picture and sound quality. Don't know about the dvds(haven't tested yet).

Using AVI2DVD, all the encoders it support can't encode an anime =[
VSO ConvertXtoDVD 2.0.19 , is always on 'rc buffer underflow' when i try to encode animes...

The anime has an high res, i will let u know GSpot Information:
Frames: 176,218
kbps: 2044
Qf: 0.055
Pics/sec: 119.890
FRAME width x height: 640 x 480
FAR: 1.333 (4:3)
PAR: 1.000
DAR: 1.333 (4:3)
AVI v1.0
DivX Style "packed bitstream" AVI
Interleave: 1 vid frame (8 ms), preload=24
Audio frames: Split across interleaves
File Length Correct

also file is BVOP and NVOP

hope this information helps u on help me =]
Thx
Pablo

Seems your problem is with the conversion, not the encoding (possibly the DIKO, I'm not familiar with the app). Anime or regular movies in DVD format are encoded easily using RB Pro and CCE. This forum is about DVD Rebuilder and the encoders it supports, not DIKO. It doesn't make a lot of difference, but what version of CCE are you using. EclCCE is only necessary with older versions, plus the affordable CCE Basic doesn't call for it.

one thing that bothers me is this line
Quote:
PAR: 1.000
this tells me that the AVI is not clearly introducng its self(hopefully).

this tool may help>> http://seemoredigital.net/03_Video_Only_Info/What_is_an_anamorphi...

here is some more info to show you what I'm thinking may be a possible hindrance >> http://seemoredigital.net/03_Video_Only_Info/What_is_an_anamorphi...

I have to agree with previous statements
1. that pro2 may be more prone to handle these files after conversion ,google "eclpro"

2. these will have to be converted to use rebuilder. this is kinda misplaced thread.

you may already know but DIKO support can be found here >> http://www.vmesquita.com/forum/index.php#3

I am not that familiar with it's functionality either.

Thank you guys.
I solved the buffer overflow problem(it was because the source movie was ina 5.400RPM HDD,and the destination folder was an 7.200HDD)
Strange, but when i moved everything to the same hdd, things worked.

And the,i encoded them. Now i will test'em later in my hdd.
But really thank you all that helped me on this.

I will have to look for eclpro ... Because i want the most best encoded movies.
=] Thanks

EclPro is the program used by Rebuilder to utilize ProCoder. If you have ProCoder, then Rebuilder will install the EclPro for you during the installation process. Opinions vary, but bang for the buck, CCE Basic is probably the best RB supported retail encoder. If you want good plus free, then use the HC Encoder. HC is slower than the CCE.

Oh okay
Thanks in advance for those hints.
But with CCE...encoding takes sometimes 8 hours, but i get a nice "KDVD"
I don't want KDVD. I want true DVD movies, without macroblocks , without noise...well,perfect dvds. Thats why i am doing this quest for the best encoder.

Anyway, thanks for everything! I'm using VSO Software...and other third-party softwares to correct audio gaps,video,etc... =]

I don't think your problem is with the encoders. CCE is the tops as far as the professionals are concerned and the ProCoder is up there on top as well. Using them with programs like DIKO Gold and Rebuilder bring those programs into the mix. As for Rebuilder, I've not run into any quality problems with it. If you're getting macroblocks and noise, I suspect it's being induced by software other than CCE or you're starting out with a bad source. Try Rebuilder with the CCE and see if you get the same problems. You can get everything you need for the setup at http://www.dvd-rb.com/ .

THank you man
Your post have been so helpfully.
I will try this tomorrow(In my home computer i do not have resources to make an DVD). I'm brazillian, you may have an idea =]
Well...i will try. But something i can tell you is that most of my sources, are excellent DivX or XviD files...with an extreme quality.

And...in afterdawn, is there an specified forum that threats about vso?
because with one version...(1.99.019 i think, don't remember),files get a smaller size, and the quality is awesome. With others 2.xx.xxx , files always are DVD-5 Size, and with macroblocks.

If there's any forum i can talk about it please tell me. ANd i left diko ... it was only giving me problems. I hate "k,B,C"DVD . I like a pure DVD =]

Thanks in advance
Pablo

I haven't liked vso's brainchild since it went through it's identity crisis, now for quick conversion I would have to reccomend dvdsanta it handles several format's and not a bad little transcoder.

if you would stil like to use CCE give avi2dvd a try it's free it comes with hcenc & quenc and a slew of other prog's it ties together quite nicely

Actually ConvertXtoDVD is a decent conversion app. When one looks at the controls, it will target both DVD5 or DVD9, plus it has a custom setting. Medium is the default quality setting for the encode, but it can be changed to higher quality, but that takes more time. In addition it burns and the user can even set the burn speed. Besides the name change, there appears to be some good changes on the DivXtoDVD.

Obviously you didn't pick up the ConvertXtoDVD at the VSO site.

Yeah
Sure i don't...
I used to get VSO at their site. But its actual version , sometimes i get read errors(just crash the software), and i didn't liked the quality of the video...
Anything you put into it... any video file of any size. It generates 4.2GB of data... instead of this one, that generates the VOB based in the min/med/max bitrate , and allows u to put more files per cd with a nice quality.

BUt again,i will give a try to the latest VSO version. I will see what it can do for me =]

Thanks
Pablo
