Just wondering before I spend the precious dial up time downloading ImgBurn, does it really give better results than Decrypter on DL burns? What experiences have you guys had using it?

I personally haven't experienced any difference myself. Luckily it is not a large download at 800KB.

DVDdecrypter and imgburn are basically the same burn engine written by the same individual (Lightning UK). The difference is that the ripper of DVDdecrypter has been removed. I would think that the difference in burner would be negligble. Imgburn does have some added features however.

Cool, thanks for the replies. I think I'll download it and see since it isn't too big. My last DL backup (FF Advent Children) using decrypter was excellent. When I am ready to sacrifice another DL disc I'll try it and see what happens. It's hard to experiment too much at 2$ a disc!

I don't beleive you will notice a difference. I have set imgburn up to burn after using shrink. Happy burning.

Imageburn replaces the burn program in Decrypter, it adds a few features but still burns DL disks flawlessly, I am now 5 for 5 on burning up DL movies. You can run both of them at the same time, rip then burn, no problems at all.

Just finished a dl copy of FF Advent Children using IMGBurn. Playing along fine in the background as we speak. Nice little option loaded proggy!

Guess I shouldn't try to spell after being up for 16 hrs!

ImgBURN's DL burning capablities are more advanced than DVDDecrypters. Also ImgBurn will automatically determine the best place to insert the layerbreak in a DL burn. you can always just load the MDS/MDF of a DL DVD if you have it and IB will use the LB info from there.

as for my experiences with ImgBURN, they've been very good so far. Only hiccup I have was with King Kong, ImgBURN hiccupped setting the layerbreak quite rite..Shoulda ripped the DVD with the MDS/MDF but I removed crap (FBI warnings, previews etc) thus making the MDS/MDF of the original DVD useless anyway

How does that program compare to Nero for DL burning?
