Rat DVD Main Interface Locks 4% into movie

I tried the most recent Rat DVD and the main interface GUI appears to do the following:

1. Runs very slow.
2. Locks consistantly at 4% on the actual movie file.

I ran the same movie with the Rat DVD Batch Interface (Simple) and every thing ran like a charm.

This was on a Dell 410 Laptop, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB HD, 1.87M Intel processor. Intel Graphics card on system board with shared 128 RAM and external D Port DVD Drive.

I really like the quality but want to also know the following:

1. Can I create a profile to just rip the movie?
2. How much do I gain in movie quality by moving the bar all the way to the right vs. just taking the default. It was a little grainy at times with the default but otherwise looks great.
