How do I fix this?

I am on WXP Media Center OS.

how I get this is I visit a web site offering video and i try to play it.

Example cnn.com or MLB.tv

I tired to delete it and reinstall it but was not allowed to delete it and could not install over it. So I am lost.

Help please

Hi,
Yea you would think that would be a solution but with WinXP Media Center it wont let you. It is a nightmare. I even tried to do it in safe mood but it would not.

And yes I cleaned the registory of any items pointing to WMP.

So I ended up having to completely reinstall the operating system. It was a headache.

Had the same exact problem, and dell and microsoft told me id have to pay them just to get the damn uninstaller for WMP10. Told them, yeah right.... Had to reformat as well, what a waste....

Hi DVD,
Yea It was. But I got an HP and what I did was a restore from the begining and it left alot of my things in place. Like for example it did not mess up FireFox or any of my bookmarks or any of my poker software. It did mess up a couple applicaitons I had installed but all I had to do was reinstall them and reregistor Office 2005 and Norton. SO total time was about 2 hours compared to the 8+ of trying to remove and install WMP.

So yea, but now I got my hosts file cramp full of links not to go to. So I feel pretty save right now and I guess I need to watch the sites i go to :(
