I've got my demuxed .m2v video(from avi) and ac3 audio(belight) which I input into DVDLab. In project properties I set all options, including menu to 16:9 widescreen, including my VTS properties and the whole thing burns fine. Problem is, when I play this back on my PS2 the picture shifts to "fullscreen".

In Tmpgenc I've encoded the stream as Dvd 16:9 and i've confirmed the 16:9 DAR flag is set after DVDlab compiles the DVD, but the playback aspect ratio is still wrong. The original avi is 2:35-1 with a resolution of 640x272.

I also have an intro movie playing as First play, which outputs 16:9 fine, as does the menu - I know I encoded the video in Tmpgenc right, because when I use a software player and set the aspect ratio to default it outputs to my TV as the correct ratio

Any thoughts?

hi Adavis

i had the same problem in the past and i found the solution. it depend on your dvd player and your tv system. if your tv is NTSC for exemple and your movie is PAL, even if you tried to make it 16:9 (wide) you gonna see it full screnn(4:3). so if your tv is NTSC convert the movie from PAL to NTSC 16:9

i hope it work for you, if not that's mean you have another problem, anyways i use dvd lab pro alot and i can help you.

Yes, your right my original movie avi was NTSC, but shouldn't Tmpgenc have changed that when I Selected 16:9 PAL as the output??.

I'll try encoding the file again in Tmpgenc, but Im doubting myself only because I've got no other explanations.

Id have converted the movie to PAL "pre Dvdlab/Tmpgenc", but converting outside Tmpgenc causes Audio sync problems.

Test the files with a software DVD player first. If they play fine in 16:9 then the problem is likely your hardware player.

I have a PS2 myself and it needs to be manually set to 16:9 otherwise it'll default to 4:3.

You did set the correct encoder options in TMPGEnc?
