Copying Soul Calibur need help

I have just copied soul calibur 3, and everything went fine i have backed up about twenty games with my media and they all work, after completion i put the disk into my ps2 after swap magic did its business and then the red border came up and the screen just stays black, the red lite comes on the controller so i dont know what is happening can anyone help please

sounds like bad quality dvd to me...get verbatim or sony (i prefer sony)
