Hi look ihave this optorite DVD RW DD1603 with firmware version 220E combo burner/ player for CD/DVD. Now the problem is for some reason some DVD's i put in the optorie wont read them. So if i put a dvd in to back up the light on the console would flash and then stop, but then if i start shrink up and press open disk it says no disc and that shrink has encounted a problem and needs to shut down.So i cant back it up because the optorite has not been able to read the friggin disk, but then if i put another one in it will read the disc . Like i wanted to back up a series, so it read disk one and im thinkig sweet. But then if i put in disc two to copy the opto cant read it . Now if someone could help me out with this problem i would be muchly appreciated, i dont know what it is,like firmware update need i dont know how to get it i tried the optorite web site but there was nothing there.So any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU.

thread teleported to relevant forum. i once had an Optorite (the shame of it!). anyway, mine did the same sort of thing and even stopped reading original discs. i got rid of the faulty thing quite quickly
