PS2 backup DVD+R

Before I try to make my first back up copy, The Godfather, could anyone tell me if it will work on a DVD+R. Someone told me they would only work on DVD-R but my burner is a + one.

DVD+R will work too but some PS2 likes DVD-R better (especially the older ones)

ive got a slim ps2 and it wont read DVD+R at all, not even with a film on,

That's interesting... I can read DVD+R without any problems, its probably the media you use shauntay?

yeah prob was, i dont normally use +r but a friend gave me a few, but they were useless, i always get -r 8x
