Hey. I'm new to Nero express and basically Nero alltogether.

I'm having a lot of trouble and it's getting to the point where I'm ripping my hair out. It seems that when I try to add any video file to burn it just says "Not the correct type of file" the only thing that seems to work is mpegs. BUT. It seems not all Mpegs work and random ones do. Some of them work and some of them just don't work at all. I'm getting very angry and to the point where I'm just going to uninstall the damn thing.

is it because I have Nero express or should I get a different kind of Nero?

Which version of Nero are you using. Do you have NeroVision, thats a pretty good prog.

Some versions of Nero contains bugs...several versions of Nero7 and a couple of Nero6.Let us know your version.

Hi
I'm Experiencing a similar problem with nero 6.6.0.15. It includes Vision Express SE but this prog doesn't even give the option to burn DVDs. I set the Disc type selection to DVD and go to burn DVD but am only able to add VOB, IFO, BUP files. It won't let me add anything other than these file types. Is there another version that will allow me to add and burn 'ANY' files as a DVD. Need help ASAP.

You could try updating to 6.6.0.18 from this link

Yeah. I'm using Nero Express right now and I did update. I'm having the exact same problem as the other guy. This is the message I get when I try to put certain MPEG files on:

invalid - need MPEG-1 which was encoded for Video-CD:
audio: 44.1 kHz; stereo; 224 kbit/s
video: 352 x 240 / 29.97 Hz or 352 x 240 / 23.976 Hz or 352 x 288 / 25 Hz
The following problems were found:
- stream encoding which is invalid for a [Super] Video CD
- no video
- no audio

There are many different kinds of mpeg. mpeg1 are VCDs. mpeg2 are DVDs. And mpeg4 are DivX and XviD. You can download AVI codec from here and it will tell you which mpegs you have

When I open Nero Vision Express SE I don't get the option to Make a DVD unless I purchase a plug-in for encoding, decoding mpeg2 files. Patent licence issues. Is there way I can get these codecs so I am able to make and Author DVD's. Or is there a way around it. Preferraly free.

I downloaded the patch you linked and it still doesn't work.

I read that FAQ and if I read it correctly. It says Nero Vision can convert the files right? Is there a download link somewhere that has Nero Vision? Or do I have to buy the software?
