Does it take special software to copy Playstation 2 games or will Shrink be able to do it? I don't know anything about Playstation games media, but a friend asked me if it was possible and I thought I'd ask around.
DVD Decrypter works fairly well for most games. If you dont encounter any problems running AnyDVD and Nero should be able to take care of the games that do have protection that dvdecrypter can't handle. Most will be fine though if they fit on a 4g dvd disc. Make sure you burn at low speeds as well, 1X-2X, i heard rumors of peoples laser dying out because of pooor media and burning at high speeds. Can't guarantee that though... I believe dvdcrypter might not be on afterdawn anymore, but if you "googleit" youll be sure to find it.
ps2 game dont have any copy protection, wen usin DVD Decrypter set the mode to iso read to make an image of ur game, then set the mode to iso write wen burnin a game,
ur best off usin good media and burn at half the disc speed,
also depending on what method ur usin to boot ur backups some might need rebuilding(most of time its wen usin swap magic that rebuilding is required and the game is a certain size)
Yes, that would be your first step.
Do you have a modded PS2? if not research that first as you will not be able to play any back up games without doing that first.
i have used DVD Decrypter for years and it is a great program, plus it is free.
Nero and Alcohol 120% are the other two popular programs but are not free.
also when using decypter it makes 2 files one is a iso file and other is mds file .u could save the mds file to your pc without taking up much space .also u could use the mds file to burn to disk >>>>its the same as the iso >>just alot smaller
