AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 offer free lifetime updates.
They are updated frequently. (Often before new encryptions come out)
Very easy to use.
I and many others have not encountered a DVD that couldn't be backed up using them.
$10 discount from AfterDawn.
Prompt, excellent tech support.
Fewer problems reported than with DVD Cloner 3.
21 day free trial.
I could go on and on about the good things with them. Try them yourself and see!
AnyDVD acts as a driver that runs in the background. It is the decrypter to remove Arcoss and others that have been put on the disc.
CloneDVD2 is a compression/burner program. It does the same as DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. Plus some other stuff.
If you only get AnyDVD, you will still need to use other programs in order to burn to a DVD5. You'll need something to compress the files then a burn program.
I recommend both, but at the least get AnyDVD. You will not regret the money spent.
Regarding DVDCloner 3, I have made the big mistake of purchasing that program. It totally sucks. It is a rip off of CloneDVD2 which I also purchased, after my experience with DVDCloner.
The program you are asking about is totally unsupported, and not worth a piece of crap.
Do yourself a favor, if you are going to purchase a program, purchase AnyDVD. CloneDVD2 is excellent as well, but not required as there are numerous free programs to rip and burn with, but AnyDVD handles the encryptions easily and is supported better than any other.
Thank you both for the input. Last night I downloaded AnyDVD and easily backed up my copy of Hostel using Shrink. You both were right on the friggin money!!!
I started out ripping DVDs using DVD43 and DVD Shrink. About 2 years ago i bought AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. They are great. CloneDVD2 lets you remove video streams you dont want, (like FBI warnings) and keep the menus. I use them on 99% of my movie backups. AnyDVD handles all the new anti-copy tricks, and CloneDVD2 takes care of the compression and burning. They are well worth the money, and with lifetime updates, they should be able to handle anything new that comes out too.
Good Luck, and happy burning :)
