I got a copy of The Sopranos Series 1 and all the four disks are .img files, i tryed burning disk 1 onto a Philips DVD-R (never used them before today) and i got an error in DVD Decrypter saying

"Interpretation: Cannot Write Medium - Incompatible Format"

but i have a Freecom DVD+/-RW16B9 drive it burns all formats even dual layer so i cant see why its saying that?

i tryed burning the file to an Imation DVD-RW (only other dvd i have) i bought a 10 pack when i first got my dvd drive (over a year ago) and then relised there a shit brand, but i thought i would try burning the file to one to see if it was just the Philip DVD-Rs but it didnt work then time i got an error saying Burning Failed at 2x (there max speed)
i tryed using Nero, MagicIso and DVD Decrpter to burn the file to the Philips DVD-R and none worked, i even used MagicIso to extract the vob files and VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and burn them with Nero as a DVD Video but that even failed as i this is the first time i have used Philips brand with my dvd drive, could there be a conflict with this brand and my drive? no one else that got the file had any problems and there was over 1000 downloads

any help :(?

edit: heres a picture of the error i get in DVD Decrypter

Bruza,

DVD decrypter is basically trying to tell you that your burner was unable to recognize the media you're using and therefore unable to correctly write/burn to it.

From your piture, I see that you have a freecom_dvd+/-rw16b9 drive with firmware version 2.46. This firmware version is old and could be the cause of your problem. click on the link provided and download the latest version 2.49 and update to that version.

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2001

To get the download, click on the 2.49 choice. Run and install the file to update the firmware. Once the update is complete try burning again, make sure decrypter isn't set to write at max speed, choose the speed of the media or slower if possible (a good choice is 1/2 the rated speed of the media).

If your still having a problem with writing to those disks, then chuck them and get some verbatim DVD-/+Rs.

Bruza

The excel file is just there to inform you of what the supported max write speed is for the recommended media (I suggest you stick with verbatim disks). To update the firmware, just double click on the .exe file to run it, follow any instructions that are part of the install procedure. Don?t worry about backing up your existing firmware, the update should be all you?ll need, just make sure you do it as instructed and you?ll be fine.
