My Panasonic E50 has generally performed well over the last year or so, but a few months ago I started to notice more errors occuring. These were mainly failures with recordings which left a disc which wouldn't allow programs to be deleted, reformat or anything. The machine would go into recover mode for long periods and occasionally a U99 error would appear. I decided that perhaps the discs I had from the machine being new were starting to deteoriate so bought five new Panasonic discs. After just a couple of months only one of these is still working.

After some normal use a disc will fail to record and then although it is still possible to play discs they will not allow deleting or formatting. A soon as that disc is removed and a new one used it will work normally for a while, then the same problem occurs. Is this something to do with the discs or the machine?
