Is it possible to FTP to a HDD without ELF files?

Is there any way to just FTP to my PS2 HDD like I can with Xbox, or do I need to do all this MC Exploit crap :(

You need to run the FTP server on the PS2 before you can connect to it, so you have to do some type of mod. This can be done a couple ways. The easiest that I have found is using the exploit, and running ExecFTP.

I tried connecting to it with ExecFTP (I got it on my HDD by connecting it to my PC) but it wouldn't connect. I was using some lame-o free FTP client tho (I recently formatted my PC and I don't have FlashFXP yet). I'll try using something better later on.
