I currently stared using bitTorrent and it is downloading really slow. I am using Quest DSL. My usual download speed is 20-175kb per second. I have used port forwarding on my router. Can sombody please help me get it to go faster?

It is a Quest DSL Actiontec router.

There could be a few possible problems :
1) your isp is blocking P2P and BT traffic
2) you aren't using any well seeded torrents
3) You didn't portforward properly
4) you could be using a port that's being blocked by your isp or the tracker you are downloading from

The solutions are mostly simple

1) use a torrent client that has the option to enable encryption, like ”torrent or Azureus, and start using port 1720
2) find a torrent that has a large number of seeders, or look for a private tracker, and get yourself an invite
3) re-check your router, make sure the port is open
4) switch to a port( or portrange) above the 50000, or use port 1720
