HDMI on Warner Cable's Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD box

Am I the only one having trouble with HDMI ? I have a new Toshiba 42HPX95 HDTV and I subscribed to Warner Cable HD. I've been thru 2 cable DVR boxes. I hooked the first one up via hdmi to the tv and it worked fine except about every 5 seconds the picture would display strange artifacts and colors. I could actually hear the disk drive in the cable box making noises in sync with the glitch. Took the box back and got a brand new one. It worked perfectly for about a week. Then I started getting glitches in the picture again. Not as bad but too annoying to watch. Color would change in sections of the screen. I tried a different hdmi cable ..same problem. Then I tried a different device (a dvd player) via hdmi to the tv and it worked fine. So..its got to be the cable box. I think after recording a few showson the dvr in the cable box ..the disk access slows (or something) and the box can't do its hdmi thing. Other outputs of the cable box work without glitches ..but the picture with the hdmi connection is so much better I really want it to work. Warner Cable says they support the hdmi port but they also say the problem I have is documented. Like yea it works but no it doesn't. Anybody else have this problem ? Warner Cable says spend $20 to have a tech out or switch the box again (free). I'm pretty sure neither will help.
