Hi im having problems with dark cloud, iv burnt it to dvd and the game loads but is very slow and freezes alot making it unplayable the game has a file called DMMY. but no file extension how do i overwrite that.

You will have to rebuild the game and replace the dummy file. Here is a guide for that: http://www.xtreme-source.com/showthread.php?t=808

Also, be sure to use good media and burn at half the speed of the disc (8X DVD = 4X burn speed).

iv rebuilt games before and like your guide says the dummy files have had a file extention such as bin or dat but on dark cloud it doesnt have a file extention its just called DMMY.

How do i overwrite a file with no file extention

What does the DMMY file icon look like and what do the details say about it?

The properties of the file after extraction are

TYPE OF FILE = FILE
description = DMMY

Thats all its says. its also 60.1mb in size if that helps in anyway

Open the folder on your hd, click on the DMMY file so that it is highlighted and shows file info on the left side, then press Alt+PrtScr. Then, open up Paint, paste it there, resize it to get the necessary info and so that it isn't a huge pic. Next, host it online, like at Imageshack. Then, place the link here.

The game goes black when i enter claudes house i can still run around but cant see anything is that supposed to happen, i can enter any other building and have no problem.

I can also press triangle and leave the house

Any Help
