I never heard of Opera 9. That doesn't mean anything but I would personally be leery of anything Beta. Try another client, maybe. Is it possible that your files are in some form that need extracting or some type of image file?

I know of the Browser but I wasn't aware that it could download torrents. All I can suggest is to use a different client and a different tracker and see what happens. There is a good guide for BitTornado here at AD and it's easy to use. Or maybe, you could use a tool like DivFix to repair the avis. It may not work or, depending on how large the errors are, remove too much. It was suggested to me for a problem I had. But, you're right; I don't understand every file having errors.

Instead you go to websites that list Torrent files. These torrent files, have information on the files you want to download and also information on the tracker you must connect to to begin downloading and sharing those files. The tracker is like the central server, that keeps information on each user currently currently sharing the files, and what part of the files they have. Once you download a Torrent files, your BitTorrent client (eg. BitTorrent, BitTornado, Azureus etc.) should launch immediately and connect to the tracker. The tracker then connects you to Seeds and Peers who are sharing the file and your download should start. Once you have at least one bit of the file, you will start uploading that bit to other users who don't yet have it.

I would use a STANDARD bittorrent client,
And re-attempt downloading the files.
It can take hours and sometime DAYS to download files,
Depending on there size and seed/peer ratio.
My guess is you never actually downloeded anything
other than the torrent file itself, OR
did not net the program finish downloading the entire files.
Go with a REAL bittorrent client.
I would recommend utorrent.

He wasn't actually downloading the files from the torrent I think he was just downloading the torrent and trying to open the .torrent as a video in Opera or whatever.

As Jizmak said, on your Bittorrent site, find the file you want and download that, saving it to where you want. Then, go to that file and open it. That will automatically open your client. You can select where to save that file and your download will start. If you use utorrent, I don't think the 2 files can be saved to the same folder. The file to start your download is about 25 kB while the average movie is 700 Mb to 1.4 G and TV episodes are about 175 MB - 350 MB. Which won't play? Both files will have the same name.

Okay, the only other thing I can think of is you don't have the proper codecs installed. The Kazaa Lite Mega codec pack available here at AfterDawn or Edskes is an excellent one and you can choose what you wish to install. It also contains G Spot (or you can download it separately) which will give you various information including whether or not a specfic file opened in it has the proper codecs. If you do wish to install the KL codec Pack, uninstall any other codecs as they can conflict.
