i would say God Of War was a lot more fun for me. Great story line, great fighting, great graphics and gameplay.
Very highly thought of as far as gamers are concerned.

Played DMC 1 and it changed the way i thought about games - the controls!! I always whinged about Resi evils shit controls and how they never changed throughout the entire series (to this day?) and DMC just blew me away. There's nuthin like juggling enemies with handguns and swords while jumpin off walls, and the bosses were sweet too :P Heard number 2 was trash but DMC 3 was a return to form. Jamaal 10's signature makes God of War look sweet though!

Killzone is a very good game, but i think it is also overrated.
As far as fps games go i had fun playing it, but no more fun then some others that i thought were better. Just my opinion of course.
Kill.Switch- much better all around game then Killzone
Psi-Ops- like better because not only could i shoot people, but i could use my mind control to pick them up and fling then against a wall to save bullets :)
Black- Although this one is a bit short on missions the graphics are stunning and the sound quality is top notch
Half-Life- voted game of the year more times then i care to count, need i say more.
Timesplitters 2&3 - liked both of those because not only were they fps but also had puzzle solving and stealth aspecs
and many more under rated games like Cold Winter, Red Dead Revolver, Project Snowblind, Darkwatch and others

I think god of war is better then devil may cry 3. I own both but devil may cry just cant compete against a game like god of war god of war is way too fun and devil may cry all what it really is is button mashing but dont get me wrong devil may cry games are still good.

I would've given Killzone a higher score if the bastards had've let me JUMP!!! what a stupid omission from an otherwise half decent shooter... As for overrated i remember seeing the magazine 'Edge' call it Halo for PS2 under 1st impressions!! Pretty high bar!

I did not say it was a bad game, i said it was a good game. But i also said that there are better, more under rated FPS games you could get. And yes, i think it was over rated. The closest thing to Halo to EVER hit the PS2 is Half-Life. Which is a much better game than Killzone will ever be. And Half-Life won over 5o game of the year awards from various sources. I have also read articles that said Kill.Switch was the most realistic Military FPS game they had every played.
But everyone will have their own opinions, that includes magazine writers. There is no telling what another person is going to think is great.

True that Steimy, everyone has a different opinion. I thought Red Faction was a pretty good fps - the second one was ok too. If they'd done the multiplayer better it could have been really good (it was cool to blow open walls and snipe from the holes you'd made :P). Half Life was a good PS2 port, and the graphics got a nice overhaul too. Area 51 looked ok, but I haven't checked that one out yet...

Have Area 51, it is a lot of fun. If you like the fps type game you will enjoy it. Plus David D. from the Xfiles does the narrative.
I have not tried Red Faction. I will have to check it out.
If you like the sniper games have you checked out Sniper Elite?
That one is fun although i have not played much of it.

Hmm Sniper elite might be worth a look then - I've had many a good time on CS maps where it's just sniper V sniper hehe. David Duchovny from the X-files is the narrative king lol - he was the main character in XIII. I'm guessing you've played that - cel shaded fps is a lot of fun! You should be able to pick up Red Faction (and the sequel) dirt cheap these days as they were quite an early PS2 release...

yeah, it is a military type sniper game. Steath will be your best friend in that one. Once they spot you it's all over but the crying.
You have to sneak around to a specific shooting postion and take out your target, without getting blown to bits of course.
I need to play more of that one. I tested it and played a little of the first mision, but kept getting spotted because i was a swap magic user at the time with an NTSC system, but the game was PAL. So the screen cut off kept me from seeing all of the map that i needed to. Now i have a modchip but have just not picked it back up.

That actually sounds like an awesome concept. On the note of stealth though, Red Faction actually has some very annoying parts, where you are supposed to stay hidden (and are stripped of all weapons and ammo bar a pissy handgun and a few bullets) but it's done so badly your best option is to run and ohpe for the best. I think stealth is just so akward sometimes in an fps, the only game that ever did it real well in my mind was XIII. The problem with the NTSC---> PAL cut-off is one i would never had thought of. The must've been really annoying for a while there lol.

Yeah, it is. It is just one of the many reasons i have come to hate Swap Magic and switched to a system with a good modchip. Takes care of every problem and makes every back up a strait 1:1 burn.
Tonight i plan to get back on an old favorite, Kill.Switch
Most under rated fps game i know of.
I just have gotten to the point that i get each new game i want when it comes out and now have so many i have not finished 1-10th of the one's i liked. So i am actually waiting on them to stop making PS2 and Xbox games so i will have no choice but to go back and play the hundreds of games i did not finish or even play much of.

Haha yeah. There's always another that comes out and takes your attention away from an old favorite. Final Fantasy series has killed my hope of finishing many a game lol. I really will have to have a look at Kill.Switch - heading to Gamepro as we speak haha.
