I recently bought a slim ps2 modded...... well, now i want to play my real games online again. First of all I need to setup a network connection, but Guess what? No online setup disk. So I dug out my old ps2 V 3.0 online disk. Well that just gives me a DNAS error. Now, my big question is if my problem is that I have a modchip so I need to patch a copy of my online startup disk, or does the Slim ps2 have it's own unique startup disk? If thats what it is, is there any hope for me playing online again?
Also as the network setup cd is cd format I hope this is the right section.

Look up your chip online. Theres usually a way (well sometimes) to make it shut down after boot (For me, I hold Reset until the picture appears on screen).

Thanks for the help but I tryed burning the origional PS2 online disk with the version 2.5 DNAS patched and it worked perfect.

Thanks anyway. Although I really wish I knew what my chip was, I am pretty sure it's a Matrix Infinity.

If it's a matrix infinity then you can turn it off. For future referance, you don't need the setup disc to setup a network connection, you can just use any online capable game as they all have built-in network connection setup utility.
