Is there someone out there who can tell me what's wrong with this- I use a dvd decrytor to read and write the image file at 1x speed and i've also tried alcohol 120% but none of them will read on my ps2. I use dvd-r (datawrite) and ive also tried jessops dvd+r but they wont read. When i put in the -r , it tells me that it is an invalid ps2 disc and when i try the +r, there is just a pink flash followed by a black screen. Surely someone can help? PLz
i take it you're in UK, i didn't know Jessops sold DVD's, they must be rebranding someone else's discs. as to datawrite, they use widely differing quality in disc manufacturers so you could have bought some subpar discs..
Yep, like creaky said, you might've gotten some crappy media! There is a sticky on the top of this section that'll explain, in depth, what media you should use. In short, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Sony, Philips or Maxell.
Another aspect to look at when burning PS2 games is the burn speed. You'll have your best luck with 8X DVD's (+R or -R, depends on what your PS2 prefers, most like -R better), burning at 4X. If your burner won't go up to 4X, get 4X and burn at 2X.
Last thing, make sure that your burners firmware is up to date. This can play a part in games not working. You can check for updates here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php#B.
A lot of people have had that problem. If your discs are fairly new, you should contact the company that you got it from and try to get a replacement.
As far as the DVD to CD thing, I don't have a link. Hopefully, somebody else can help with it. I can tell you this, it'll be a lot more work to shrink to CD, and won't work for most games.
I am having a rpoblem i have burned it with DVD Decrypter speed 4x and I am using a swap magic disk with my slim ps2 flip top thing. I load the swap magic disk until it says load program thing and i putin the game but it doesnt start it only spins a little and stops and stays in the swap magic screen the whole time. Please help
