well i have been researching xbox 360 streaming applications for music and photos using mac and windows and i have my greatest picks from this selection and the worst so that you know which one's to try

first off we will start with windows

top 5 for windows starting at 5

5.connect360:this application would be a great idea if it worked i installed it on linux and on mac os x and windows xp pro and home and media center and was not able to connect to my 360 at all even after following all the instructions and help files

4.windows xp plugin for windows from microsoft:good plugin but to many limitations

1. you cannot use itunes files in this plugin you cannot playback video the only thing you can do is play music in mp3 format and pictures suck when using this utility

3.windows media center plugin (without rollup update 2)

problems none works flawless totally awesome no limitaions

2.windows media center plugin (with rollup 2 installed)

problems limits certain applications from working with the 360 networked

1.the best and greatest for windows and mac users twonky media

here is why:

1.twonky media allows streaming to the xbox 360 for windows and mac users if you have i tunes installed on a mac or windows based pc you will be able to access all of your music from itunes and all of your photos from iphoto or even the windows photo folder flawlessly

2.drawback:hidden installer on mac and on windows it doesn't tell you where it is installing the plugin and which location the plugin is located in which means if you want to uninstall the application your kinda &*&*&&*& up the &^%^&%&^%^ creek with out a paddle

now on to macintosh:

there are only one that works

twonky media

conntect 360 is a worthless piece of &^%&^%&%&^ for mac

Well here are just some suggestions:

The new Xsata being released early this summer by Datel's Codejunkies allows you to search your Xbox 360 hard drive with your computer. You can transfer files to and from your Xbox 360 and your computer.

The other thing is buying a external hard drive that is USB 2.o compatible and putting movies and music on it. Then you can simply hook it into one of your Xbox 360's USB ports and you can access them on the media tab.

Last but not least the Xbox 360 transfer kit also made by Datel's Codejunkies is almost exactly like the software available now known as Action Replay. This Xbox 360 transfer kit allows you to transfer different files from your Xbox 360 to your computer and back. You can also send files to your friends that aren't linked to your gamertag. Just another accessory to share with friends or open up space on your harddrive!

your wrong the only thing you can do with a external drive is music only no movies no photos

Wrong again u can look at photos aswell with an external hdd

Only thing you cant do is watch movies

Oh and thanks for the info on all the new software available, havent really been keeping up. Oh and is there any way to try out twonky media for more than 30 min?

Actually there is an external hard drive that can be formatted to the same format as the Xbox 360 allowing you to watch movies! Sorry man, lol.
