Man...no matter what people think of the official name of Nintendo's next-gen console, no matter how much people think Nintendo is still gonna be 3rd in the console war, the fact still remains that Wii has had the most surprising E3 conference of anyone.

The announcement of Super Smash Bros Brawl being the icing on the cake. Solid Snake in a Smash Bros game? Who woulda thought? And the fact they didn't give this game Wii-Mote controls is another plus. From the trailer I watched on gamespot, this game is looks nothing short of amazing. Even the graphics received a SIGNIFICANT overhaul (Just look at Link, he looks better than he does in Twighlight Princess. And Mario's jeans look realistic as shit).

What is everyone else's thoughts on this game? Does anyone think there are more secret non-nintendo chars included in the roster? If so, which new chars do you think Nintendo will surprise us with next?

I just read about it. Meta knight (from kirby), Kid Icarus, Wario, Zero suit Samus, and Snake?!! That's amazing.

I was wondering how they'd use the Wii remote, and actually I was thinking about how sweet they could make it, but they opted to use GC controller (or perhaps the new "classic" wii controller - SNES with extra buttons and 2 analog sticks). I'm not sure If i'm dissappointed or not. There was speculation way back when IGN made the mock up shell that Smash Bros. would use it.

Anyways, this is still my most anticipated title. I wish Nintendo would've made it a launch title, as was originally the rumor, but hopefully it comes out early 2007 and I can get my hands on it quick. I'm just glad any light was shed on it, because for the past 2 days i've been like "WTF about smash?!"

this game for me is up there with halo 3 and gears of war in my personal taste. i can not wait for it to release and i hope they take a long time making it b/c the longer it takes the better it will play and look.

Exactly, Rabbity. That was also my feelings for Twighlight Princess. Imagine if Zelda came out last fall, like expected. Not only would all of us have beaten the game several times over, it probably would not have even been a better experience than any previous Zelda title because IGN and Gamespot journalists were talking about how the gameplay was almost bland back in 2005.

I don't mind that Nintendo delays games because they always make significant improvements and they never disappoint. Did you all happen to read the bit about them trying to include Sonic in the roster? I think adding mascots from outside of Nintendo is all that was left to make the Smash Bros series the perfect party-fighter. That, and the addition of super moves (Did you all SEE Mario's Fireball Barrage and when "SSJ" Link went buck on Mario?).

Man...Nintendo was just chock full of surprises at this E3.
