I will try to explain this problem to the best of my limited computer abiity. I have two dvd's i was trying to rip. Madagascar which i read has problems and Bringing Up Baby (old movie). Anyways, I use DVD Decrypter to rip the dvds to my hard drive. Then I use DVD Shrink 3.2 to follow. Then i was told to try to use Nero after that to burn the disc. My problem is that I am using a DVD +R with 4.7GB, but when I go to Nero to burn movie #1(Bringing Up Baby), that file is a total of 6.540 GB and it won't fit on the DVD. Is there some other step I am missing here?

On DVD Shrink 3.2, should i be running backup and if so, where do i put those audio and video files? It won't let me save them to the same location where the rest of the files are. Any help would be appreciated, and sorry for my lack of description.

For the 6.54 GB movie, use Recode in Nero. It will reduce the size to fit onto a DVD5. Its the same as Shrink, only updated. Here is a guide my buddy alkohol has for using Nero. It might be of some help:

Madagascar was one of the first films to use the bad cell trick to prevent copying. You can use either AnyDVD, or rip with dvd decrypter, and run those files thru VOB blanker before Shrink.
I think the instructions you got were to let Nero burn after Shrink, but you can have it let DVD Decrypter do the burn after Shrink, and you eliminate Nero from the process. Its on the burn page of Shrink, where you select target device.

Let me try to find some good shrink guides for you also:

Well, today i finally got the reducing the size of the file down to fit on a disk. Then I burn the disk with the files that were decompressed from DVD Shrink 3.2 (got it down to 4.35 GB) on Nero. It burns 100%, says take the disc out (DVD+R if that matters) and I go and put the disc in DVD player downstairs and nothing is on it, it won't read it. I have other discs of this same type that have played in that DVD player, so it is something I did wrong in the process. Here are the names of the files I am trying to copy on to the disc. After shrink has made this file the appropriate size for the 4.7GB disc, is there something else I need to do? I was not getting any other errors of any type for this movie. When i went to Nero, I selected burn dvd. THen I selected all the files that were copied to my hard disc to copy to the disc in my drive. I am not really sure what else I can do at this point. I thought for sure I had done everything right this time. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

I would suggest you use DVD Decrypter for the burn after Shrink takes care of the files. Shrink has the option to use Nero, or Decrypter for the burn, and Decrypter works in many cases when Nero will not work because of some conflict.
If that doesnt work, post your burn log from Nero, and I, or someone else will look at it and tell you what is wrong according to the log. Here is where the Nero logs can be found depending on which version of Nero you are using.
Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt

Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.txt

These things record all burns, and we only need the last one. The burns are seperated by something like this:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======

Windows XP 5.1
IA32-xxxx-xxxx-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

that was from a Nero 6 log, but 7 looks much like that. Underneath the divider is the operating system, and right below that is the begining of the serial number. When posting a log, just include the last burn log, and be sure to edit out your serial numbers by typing xxxx over them, or deleting them before posting to the forum.
