Get an M3 adapter (from divineo, kicktrading etc.)

Get a SD or CF card for the M3 (from ebay, newegg etc.)

Get Datels Max Media Launcher (www.codejunkies.com)

Thats all you need.

As far as i'm aware there isn't any device that can play NDS roms that are not patched.

If you think the high quality M3 is too expensive just get the cheap supercard though don't expect too much from GBA games on it.

what do you mean by "scene related roms"?

FlashMe will work with the M3

If you have a firmware 1 DS then a Passkey1 will do

scene release roms are roms released by warez groups. So do i have this right? You don't need flashme? if i get a passme and m3 i will be set and not need anything else?

That right, flashem is not required if you are happy to use a passme.

and if the scene released roms you are on about are just commericial roms, they will work on the M3, they just need to be put on the CF/SD card using the M3's gamemanger software to work.

what do you prefer ? Flashme or Passme ? Also whats better in compatibility CF or SD?

FlashMe is my preference as no passkey is sticking out from the ds and battery consumption is less (due to there being no passkey to drain the battery)

If you asked a few months ago I would have said CF had better compatability, but now I think they're pretty much equal.

Don't forget that if you do plan on using FlashMe, you still need to use a passkey one time so you can install FlashMe.

So what should i buy in you opinion? which supports all commerical roms and homebrew? CF or SD?

For compatability, I would have to say CF as there is still a very small amount of homebrew which dosn't fully support SD yet.

However the CF version of M3 is physically larger than the SD version, which is why lots of people buy the SD.

As shown in my sig (somewhere) I have the CF version, and I have never had any problems with it :-)

Yes, but not directly to your PC.

Theres some homebrew (dunno what it's called, never used it) Which allows you to dump the DS game in your DS to a Flash Cart/M3. You can then copy that over to a PC.

all u have to do is get a Super card and a sd card and all you have to do is put games on it and play. I might be wrong cause im kinda new at this whole thing. but from what I read its just that simple. my friend has a super card and he told me that it works fine with his ds.

Actually the games need to be patched then put on the SuperCard, just as with the M3, so it is not simpler at all.

That comment was refering to making a backup of a game you already own onto an M3/SuperCard/Flash Cart.

No, as different devices need to patch the games in different ways.
For instance a game patched to work on a M3 will not work on a SuperCard.

Patching the Games isn't a big deal and takes a matter of Secounds....

My Super Card came with a disc full of software and Freeware Roms

GBA games just need to be patched but DS games from what I've read not only need to be patched but Passme is needed...

Exactly as tmfloria said.

My M3 came with the software needed on a CD, you use the software to copy the roms to the CF/SD card and they are automatically patched when copied.

i don't know what the best choice for a mod is, but i am very happy with my m3 slim.

i have a m3 sd slim version
passkey 2 (but i have flashme installed, so i don't need to use it)

i think i made the right choice with m3 slim + flashme cause the nds still fits in your pocket when your m3 card is inside.

i never had any problems with running homebrew or commercial roms.
there is a game manager included which can patch roms and create save files, this is needed for all commercial roms. and not all commercial roms work with fast boot / software reset.
