When you say driver I assume you are talking about firmware...
Is your drive showing in My Computer?
Is your drive showing in Device Manager?
Are there any yellow "?" or "!" showing in Device Manager?
The correct firmware version is 1.07 and can be found here:

If it's not showing in device manager firmware will not help.
Have you rebooted your puter since installation of drive, has the drive ever worked or is this the first time you've used it?

Basically..but we haven't established that it's fried yet. If it were done, you should still see it in my computer, you'd probably just get a power calibration error.
Open Device Manager again and go to hardware and click on check for new hardware...can you open your case and make sure that all of your cables are seated securely? Unplug them and reconnect, power and IDE ribbon.

I've done that. I have even borrowed an old cd-rom and pluged it and it works.
when I turn comp on its writen there that HDD is pri slave. I think it shouldn't be so.
I have loaded best performance setting in BIOS.

Where did you DL that from, the LG site? If so it is very old, current version is 1.07...for some reason my link takes you to rpc1's home page. Did a readme file accompany the .exe? The instructions included in the readme file should be followed to a T. Go to rpc1 and DL the firmware that is 1.07 and follow the directions in the readme file and try flashing again. This may or may not help your situation...but is worth a try.

ok. I see I have to buy new one.
I've seen local shops pricelists
and I can afford "DVD + CD RW NEC OEM Beige" for 36-40$
(I promis i won't fry it).
can you tell me if it's a good(normal) stuff?
and also I want to thank You (you are the person who helped me with
combo funerals).

NEC 3550 is an excellent drive...the BenQ's are also top notch, DW1655.

I agree that you probably fried your drive -
Flashing your drive is usually an easy thing BUT you have to flash with the correct firmware - it can't be close to your drive - it must be exact.
As for another drive, . . . I cannot think of a better drive than BenQ. I have one and it's excellent !
Cheers,
