ok i do not know if this says it anywhere but...

go to system manager or w/e and then go to your lpt port then double click it.. then fidn the tab where you can select the name of the lpt (lpt1,lpt2)i think... then about that is a small check box called "Enable Legacy Plug and Play support" or soemthing to taht effect... click that and clos that . then go the give io driver... found on a site somewhere install it AND RESTART then the led on the chiop should be solid red.. that is what was wrong w/ me... make sure ur bios is set at like 378 for the port i think... well thats what i did

some of this may have wrong names i am at school and cant acces tahtn info so it is from memory
