Many factors that decide what system the average consumer will buy.
Price, Features, Design and etc.

All next-gen systems are looking good physically, so scrape design.

Next, Features:

PS3 has Blu-Ray
XBOX 360 has Xbox Live
Wii has motion sensor controller and Nintendo Classic games

Price:
PS3 -- $500 and $600
Xbox 360 -- $400 and $500
Wii -- Between $200 -- $300

Alright now to the good stuff.

Since Xbox 360 and Wii are using regular DVDs that people are accustomed to, they would be easy to hack and burn games for them. Ps3 is using Blu-ray and we might not see Blu-Ray bruners until 2007-2008. Sony is using Blu-ray for the sole reason of stopping pirates and hackers. If a modchip comes out for Xbox 360 before the release of PS3 then Im definitely getting a 360. Wii could get modded easily because its such a small system and it still uses regular DVDs.

Those are just my insights on the Next-Gen Consoles.

hahaha, sony have no intention of using the blu ray as the main reason for stopping hackers, they are using all of the sony fanbase who will buy anything they say is great to win the format war. the blu ray player was never meant to help gamers buyinh the ps3 its just there so what they can actually win the format war after loosing the beta and vhs war.

the 360 is $300-$400

and i dont think the wii will get a mod that early

I mean look at gamecube, took them a long time to get a decent mod for it.

you are very stupid ali4real. ps3 is not using blu ray to stop hackers. also the camecube will take a while to hack.

anyway i hate hackers i really hope the ps3 is hacker proof, because i don't want systems to turn into 1 big halo 2.

First off, Sony only has the Blu-ray for a little while longer. The patent on it runs out soon and every dvd burner manufacturer will be able to produce them. Yes the Blu-ray does prevent hacking but that isn't the reason Sony went with it. They went with it thinking it would be the next best dvd burner but they were wrong. Anyone who would need a dvd that holds that much space to release movies on or hold data on has got some serious issues or a seriously overly-long project!
