All right, I have a lot of questions. However, I promise not to ask them all.

Basically, I want to burn some Mp3s files to an audio CD. The software I'm using is Cakewalk's Pyro, though I have Nero, Real, WMP, and Musicmatch at my disposal.

I just burned a CD at 24x, and I couldn't get it to play in two of my stereos. Then, I put in the most modern one of our 19.99 cheapies and it played. However, some of the tracks are dropping out. Sometimes I can rewind back and play over the part and it'll be fine; sometimes not. What is more, the problem occurs at several points throughout the CD.

So, I suppose the first question is: Why is my CD dropping out? In the help menu in Pyro I think it says that the Mp3s are converted to WAV files. If this is right (it's a little unclear), could this be the problem? That is, would I be better off burning a data or an Mp3 CD rather than an audio one?

The second question is: Why are two of my radios rejecting the Cd when the other isn't?

When you make a "Data CD" or sometimes it's called an "mp3 CD", your player must be able to play mp3's. When your burner says that it converts to wave format, that is perfectly normal. What type of media(CD's) are you using? Sometimes you're better off paying a little more for quality. Doest do the same thing when you any other burning programs? What exactly do you mean by "Dropping Out"? I would first try using Nero & see if you have any problems. Then I would try different media to burn onto.

Definitely try higher quality media. Also, try slowing down the burn speed. Might be an issue for some players. I normally burn at 16x or less. At least that works for me.

Thanks for your response. I use Memorex, and I've read elsewhere they're not that good. I burned again with less programs turned on in the background and I managed to get one with just 3 skips.

By "dropping out," I meant that my first burn would just stop playing. But, like I said, my second and third burns have 3-4 skips apiece.

I'll try Nero before buying new CDs, which I'll probably do anyway.

Why should my CD play in two of our CD players but not in two others? They all have the "Compact Disc Digital Audio" seal.
