Have a requirement for a XBOX to automatically switch on as soon as power is applied. Previously I have had something similar happen by accident whilst trying to flash an Aladdin. In the instructions it said to jumper across 2 points on the modchip this caused the box to boot as soon as power was applied. Unfortunately this then rendered the ejuct button defunct. This is not so much of a problem as the Xbox is going to be hidden away in a cupboard. I could then have a make to break switch that then allows you to use the front panel normally. The xbox will be switched on remotely (and off) by a RF X10 socket.

Does anyone know of an offical way to do it? Or is the power button momentarilly on or make and break. Would test with a mulitmeter but havent got an XBOX in front of me at the moment.

Right answered my own question, just wedge the on button with a matchstick and the Xbox will boot fine and still be able to use the eject. This is with a Duo X chip

i have no idea what you are asking about?

I have a DuoX2 chip, i can press eject and it boots to the MS Dash, i press start and it boots to the EvoX Dash

so you are wanting it to be able to turn on when power is applied to the wall socket it is plugged into? What the heck use would that be?

PIcture this the XBOX is located somewhere where you cant get at it easily but have a X10 remote control socket. This way we can switch the XBOX off and also switch it on remotely and if the power button is shorted out luckily with the DUO X the XBOX still boots.

Get it know

you know there are tons of mods for this (i.e. using the controller to start your xbox instead) go to the xbox-scene
