ok first of all in the taskbar, there is an icon warning me of a virus and i did not install this program. when i click it it redirects me to spyfalcon.com. i used spybot and ad-aware and they both found products of spyfalcon and removed them but the program is still there. i also have a problem where when the computer starts Norton Anti-Virus tells me that it was denied access to drive C:. Also randomly, not even always during a virus scan, norton will say the the removal feature is not installed. also, all of a sudden i cannot get into iexplore.exe, the program shows up in the system processes but does not actually come up. all of this happened within the last 2 days except for the denied access to drive C: from norton which i think that has something to do with something i did myself.

I found another post related to spyfalcon, but all of the instructions given to fix it did not apply to me at all. Thanks for the help!

okay, i ran the smitfraudfix in safe mode already and used the fix feature. it fixed all of the problems that it found, and when i restarted i found that the taskbar icon saying i had a virus is gone along with 2 desktop icons that were created making me think they were windows security files. iexplore.exe works now. the only real problems remaining are the problems with my anti-virus but i'm not sure if those can be answered here anyway. here is a new hijack this log just to check if there are any other bad things i should know about:

Ok, you got something that needs cleaning....

Cleaning instructions:

Download and install Ewido, UPDATE it, but do NOT run a scan yet. -> http://www.ewido.net/en/download
We'll use it later.

Download BFU.zip -> http://www.merijn.org/files/bfu.zip
Unzip it to folder C:\BFU

Download this removal script, right click, save target as -> http://metallica.geekstogo.com/alcanshorty.bfu
And save it to the same folder than where BFU was installed earlier (c:\BFU).

Do NOT use this yet!

Fix the following entries with HijackThis (run HijackThis, press "Do a system scan only", close all other windows, checkmark entries and press Fix checked):

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BA52B914-B692-46c4-B683-905236F6F655} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {DE9C389F-3316-41A7-809B-AA305ED9D922} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [winupdates] C:\Program Files\winupdates\winupdates.exe /auto

Restart your computer to the safe mode (Press F8 button when computer is starting and choose safe mode)

Press Start -> My Computer -> Go to folder C:\BFU

-> Run BFU by doubleclicking BFU.exe
-> Type or copy/paste this to the "Scriptline to execute" -field: C:\BFU\alcanshorty.bfu
-> Click Execute and let it do its work (You should see a progressbar if you did this right)
-> Wait for the "Complete script execution" box and click OK.
-> Click Exit in order to quit BFU.

Scan and clean your computer with Ewido and save the log file.

Restart your computer normally.

Post a fresh HijackThis log and Ewido's log to here so we can see if your computer is now clean.
