Hi everybody!
I got a problem that i was hoping someone could help me with.
I converted an AVI movie (Troy.avi) to DVD using WINAVI, then i burned it with NERO 7. and it plays in my computer but it does not play back in my home DVD-player.
I also tried burning it with WINAVI and still did not work.
Tried to convert the AVI file with Santa 4 and also did not work.
I just gave up all hopes to make a DVD playable in my DVD or PS2.
Please someone help me out.
THANK YOU.
GRACIAS.
GRAZIE.
SHISHI.

Is it possible that you used +R media that was not booktyped to -ROM???

I am just grasping at straws...

It could be the AVI files source was PAL ... if it was it won't work on U.S. players.

there are a # of reasons why a recorded DVD won't play on a home dvd player:

1. crappy media so your stand alone player doesn't recognize the DVD
2. you burned it too fast and there are read errors on the disk that
makes the dvd a non disk to the player!
3. paper lables on the dvd makes read errors and sometimes the player
won't read the disk because of it!
4. if your burner can I would booktype the +R disks to DVD-ROM which
is more acceptable to most players.
5. different region code!
6. bad dvd structure would make the disk inoperable, but you claim
that it does play in the computer! but that would be another
reason why a disk would play in a stand alone.

and these are just some of many...........
