Damn thing has the invalid VOBU's, and I can't back it up. Using AnyDVD 5.9.6.0 and DVD Shrink. I've even tried ripping it with DVD Decrypter and still a no go, any thoughts? I tried VOBLanker, but wasn't sure which cells to blank out!!

Your help is much appreciated!

You probably have a bum DVD - scratched or dirty. I backed up this title in Jan 2004 using the old DVDXCopy Express - a somewhat primitive and now defunct backup software.

Then again maybe the title DVD was reissued with structure protection, however, I doubt that since the title is not exactly mainstream.

BTW it's really a great movie.

you got good advise from Grampaw....it's definately the DVD, not a software problem! and I don't think they would spend the money to reissue that movie with better copy protection! It's not a blockbuster of a movie! but good movie just the same!

I would try cleaning it up ..... remember do not clean in swirls.... clean in straight lines from inner circle to the outer edge! use mild non abrasive cleanser..... although I heard of people using Brasso to clean a really bad/damaged DVD with good results. I use this light cleaner that doesn't leave a film on the DVD and a soft cloth that leaves no lint! I was told that Philips makes a great disk cleaner although I can't find it anywhere.

After cleaning try ripping again! should do the trick for you.
