I've used WinRar to decompact a torrent file and it has produced two files:

.bin
.cue

Whats next and what s/w will I need to do it? ( I have Nero already but do I need to convert the files to an ISO?).

Bin and cue files are for cd images... just use Nero in burn image to disc mode and select the cue file to burn to a cd

Thanks Paddy. The .bin file is big(ish) and the .cue file is small. I guess I burn both?

the .cue is called a cuesheet. It is a plaintext description of HOW to burn the .bin to disc and can often be important. You should open the *cuesheet* in your burning software for optimum results.

Edit: You need to use the 'open' button in Nero, not make a new compilation. Otherwise you'll make a totally unusable CD except for a back-up of your image :) [Edit again: choosing the "Burn Image to Disc" option paddy mentioned in StartSmart is the same as 'open' in Nero Burning ROM.]

correct.
open Nero StartSmart
click on the CD tab at the top right
then go to the burn image option that looks like a disc with a match on fire over it.
Select the CUE file and burn and it will burn what you need.
