Can you burn a dvd-format on a cd-r? Like put the video_ts folder with the vob and all the rest of those files on a cd-r. I'm not talking about vcd because all dvd players aren't vcd players.

P.S. You do realise that a CD-R is only 700Mb ?

ah , i was wondering if it was for perhaps music vids or something.

I've not heard of anyone else doing what you've asked in thread but I've not tried either so I am dubious to say it's not possible

CD-R is so inexpensive maybe you should be the first to post back results of your experiment

I've actually heard that it is possible. (read it in a magazine article about making your own simple movie) seems that with dvd quality you will only get like 7 minutes on a cd, not bad for a simple home movie, but pathetic for a dvd or even an episode.

This is an amazingly imformative site with many places to find information and help. Please support it.

It can be done. Not many players support it though. Only one I have seen that will play them is apex AD-700 that I still have around and its firmware is hacked to play them. I am sure there are some more players that will play them just don't know what ones it may be.
